I was wrong in my initial post.<br /><br />Spring apparently brings MORE with it than just the promise of spring time.<br /><br />Spring brings with it ....... <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cicada">Cicadas!</a><br /><br />To be clear, that is only if between this Spring and LAST spring you decided to move from the beautiful Northwest [a.k.a. God's Country] to the outskirts of Cincinnati, OH. Then the whole "promise of springtime" takes on a completely new, beetle-infested meaning.<br /><br />Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining about the incessant buzzing noise and the annoying infestation of these weird creatures. Frankly I'm just about tickled for all the fat, happy birds that are feasting on these Rumplestiltskin-like beetles. They seem to be having a wonderful time as well.<br /><br />It's just that . . . . well . . . . when I got the glossy brochure from the Chamber of Commerce, they didn't say anything about locust-like critters pelting and infesting my car.<br /><br />Although, maybe I'm just looking a gift horse in the mouth here. Perhaps with some honey and flatbread, I could go all John the Baptist on them and give the bloated black birds a run for their money.<br /><br />OK, so there's lots of catching up to do since I haven't hit a keystroke here in 15 months. Fine. I'll get to it.
